The first stages of the Scotland under-18 selection and preparation programme will start with representative matches this Wednesday 11 December at Murrayfield Stadium.
The most capable players from Edinburgh, Glasgow, the Borders and Caledonia have already taken part in regionalised training sessions in preparation for the initial selection fixtures.
Two games will be played (Glasgow v Caledonia and Edinburgh v the Borders).
Further selections will then take place as the best players from Caledonia and Glasgow amalgamate to make Glasgow Warriors under-18, whilst the most promising youngsters from The Borders and Edinburgh will combine to form Edinburgh Rugby under-18.
The under-18 squads of Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby will then take part in a double-header on Friday 20 December (prior to Edinburgh Rugby’s game v Leinster) and Sunday 5 January at Lochinch in Glasgow.
Following these games, players will be chosen for the Scotland national preparation camp on Saturday 22 February and Saturday 23 February where they’ll be joined by those from the Scottish Exiles programme in the final selection process.
