Clear-up in Caledonia leagues

Victory was had in two of the RBS Caledonia leagues were decided this weekend, as the table-topping teams put themselves out of reach by both recording comfortable wins on Saturday.

Aberdeen University and Perthshire 2XV won RBS Caledonia Regional League Division 3 North and Division 4 Midlands respectively.

Aberdeen University completed the perfect season, winning all 13 of their games, recording a try bonus-point on each occasion. The league was secured after Aberdeen University put Kinloss Eagles, who were also undefeated, to the sword, 55-0.

A 39-8 win for Perthshire 2XV over Arbroath, put them out of reach at the top of their league- table with two ties still left to play. The team who play out of North Inch, have recorded 11 victories from their 14 matches.

Following their league title success in the RBS East Regional League Division 3, St Boswells, added another piece of silverware to their trophy-cabinet, this time in winning the RBS East Regional Bowl. A 30-6 win over Liberton, means the Border team will now progress into the RBS National Bowl competition, playing Glenrothes in the semi-final.

Aberdeen Grammar, will compete in the RBS National League next season, following a defeat to Currie, 8-21, which confirmed their automatic relegation from the RBS Premiership.
