Already some 40 players are signed up for Edinburgh Rugby's first social rugby tournament on the back pitches of Murrayfield Stadium this Friday night.
As it stands, they'll compete in two 10-a-side matches, however the club are expecting a number of players to take advantage of the 'pitch up and play' nature of the event, so more matches are expected to take place.
For just £3 per person, the event offers the opportunity for small sided, full-contact rugby games for groups of friends, colleagues or local rugby players, and includes a post match meal.
It's shaping up to be a great night and everyone is welcome.
Assistant coach and Play On ambassador, Stevie Scott
"Play some rugby, have a meal and a drink after and be home in time to enjoy the rest of your weekend. It’s really that straight forward.”
Edinburgh Rugby development manager, Doc McKelvey, said: “Play On gives adults the opportunity to stay involved in the sport and have fun with their mates without too much commitment.
"We’ve also had interest from local clubs who can’t quite find the numbers or enough games for their 2nd and 3rd XVs.”
The first Play On event kicks off this Friday (28 March, 6.30pm-8pm) – with plenty of free parking for participants – and will continue on the last Friday of every month.
