Jon Welsh, the Glasgow Warriors and Scotland prop, is taking up a coaching role with his former club GHA for the coming season.
Welsh, 27, signed for the Warriors from GHA in 2008 and has since appeared for the club 95 times, gaining two Scotland caps in the process.
GHA head coach Craig Sorbie, said:
“We want to build a professional environment at GHA, one that focuses on developing players who are looking to follow in Jon's footsteps and push for professional contracts. Having Jon as part of the coaching set up will be a great asset in helping to guide and develop our young players to the levels they need to get to if they are to make that step up.
"Jon is also a great personality with an infectious enthusiasm and is someone that we know the boys will enjoy working with.
"Both myself and the fellow coaches are looking forward to working with him."
Jon has completed his UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification and will be taking up the role at GHA on a voluntary basis outside of his Warriors commitments.
