Scottish Thistles head coach, Graham Shiel, has made two changes for his squad to compete at Meggetland in Edinburgh tomorrow (31 May), the second leg of the GB7s Series.
Edinburgh Accies’ Ryan Godsmark comes in for Dean Kelbrick, joining his twin brother and captain Nyle. Melrose’s Tom Wilson also replaces Darren Clapperton.
Last weekend in London the Scottish Thistles were runners-up a feat they will look to maintain or improve on.
Shiel said: “Last week we set out to get a top four finish and tomorrow our aim is exactly the same. We showed significant improvements from last year in the first round of the circuit and we have a strong squad who will allow us to build on last weekend.
Dean [Kelbrick] and Darren [Clapperton] are unavailable to us this weekend, but this affords two other players an opportunity to step-up. Ryan [Godsmark] and Tom [Wilson] have both played well for their respective clubs this season and I believe they can bring something to the fold.
The Scots will meet Crawshays Welsh (1pm), Irish Exiles (2.12pm) and the Wailers (4pm) tomorrow, the first and last whom they beat in London last weekend.
Shiel continued: “We played two of our group opponents last weekend and won but this hasn’t factored into our preparations. We want to improve on our individual and collective performances and if we do that I’m confident we will do well again tomorrow.”
