This is the first year Scottish Rugby has adopted a play-off structure, with the top four teams, at the end of regular league duties, progressing to semi-finals.

Heriot’s, who finished top of the pile going into the play-offs, claimed a 17-13 victory over Currie in their respective semi-final, as  defending champions Melrose, gained their spot in the final with a 22-20 defeat of Ayr.

Taking the mic for match commentary will be the trusty duo of BBC’s Bill Johnstone and Scotland’s all time cap and points record-holder Chris Paterson.

Coverage of the match will become permanently available on Scottish Rugby’s Youtube channel.
