Bradbury included in 7s squad for season finale

Edinburgh Rugby’s Magnus Bradbury is the only addition to Scotland 7s’ 12-man squad for the final leg of this season’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, in London (Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May) – live on Sky Sports.

The powerful back-row, who travelled to Dubai for the first leg of this year’s Series, will replace Joe Nayacavou, who drops out with an ankle injury sustained in the opening game of last week’s Paris event.

Bradbury, 20, has appeared for the capital club on nine occasions this season, scoring his first try in the European Challenge Cup home tie against Agen.

He said: “I’m looking forward to getting back into the sevens set-up. They’re a tight group of guys who are always eager to succeed together.

“I can’t wait for the atmosphere. It’s always extremely exciting to play at a national stadium. It’ll no doubt be electric with a huge crowd getting behind the teams.

Sevens is a great tool for developing certain aspects of my game. Passing under pressure and defending on a pitch with a lot more room to cover are just a few of the skills I can work on, and transfer back into my XV-a-side game."

An otherwise unchanged squad will be looking to build on their Bowl win in last weekend’s event, in Paris, where they defeated Brazil (38-14), USA (14-12) and England (28-10) on the final day of competition to claim the silverware.

Scotland, who currently sit 11th in the World Series standings, have been grouped with France (9.30am), Kenya (12.58pm) and Portugal (3.42pm) for the Twickenham event.
