Scottish Rugby and Spire Edinburgh Hospitals extend partnership

Scottish Rugby is extending its partnership with Spire Edinburgh Hospitals.

As the Official Healthcare partners for Scotland and Edinburgh rugby teams, Spire Edinburgh Hospitals provide the country’s top rugby players with outpatient consultations, imaging, and surgical treatments.

The partnership started in 2008 and this new deal will see it extend to 2019.

Scottish Rugby’s Chief Medical Officer and Scotland team doctor, James Robson, said “We’re absolutely delighted to continue working with Spire Edinburgh Hospitals.

The level of care we receive from the hospitals ensures the Scotland team are always in the safest hands. We’re privileged to work with consultants who are the top of their game, providing the highest quality of healthcare in the country.”

Hospital director, Ken Hay of Spire Edinburgh Hospitals said, “Providing outstanding healthcare to the country’s elite sportsmen is an absolute privilege.

Our approach to their care is exactly the same as we offer to all our patients -   exceptional surgeons, caring nursing staff and pioneering technology. This combination ensures the players are back on the pitch, match fit, as soon as possible.”
