Fans snap up Scotland Season Pass in 48hrs

Season Passes for Scotland’s mouth-watering home matches in the 2017/18 campaign have been snapped up by fans in just two days, Scottish Rugby has announced.

Sales of the Scotland Season Pass, which covers all three Autumn Test matches at BT Murrayfield and home ties in the 2018 Six Nations Championship, have broken all previous records, with a 35% increase compared to the same offer last season.

Over 20,600 fans have jumped at the chance to see all five home matches using the Scotland Season Pass package, more than double the numbers when the offer was launched five years ago.

New Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend will lead the team against World Champions New Zealand and reigning Six Nations Champions England in the five-match sequence which opens with his first home game in charge against Samoa at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 11 November.

The following weekend the All Blacks are in town on Saturday 18 November followed by recent rivals Australia on Saturday 25 November to compete the Autumn Test series.

In the 2018 Six Nations Scotland face back to back home matches, firstly against France on Sunday 11 February and then England on Saturday 24 February.

The opportunity to see Scotland play both the All Blacks and England at home, alongside a new Head Coach and the team achieving its highest ever world ranking of 5th have all combined to make the forthcoming season one of the most eagerly anticipated for many years.

Scottish Rugby’s Chief Operating Officer Dominic McKay said: “Our innovative Scotland Season Pass has always been popular with loyal fans who get behind the team every year at BT Murrayfield, so we are thrilled that sales have broken all previous records.

“For all the Season Pass tickets to sell out in less than two days demonstrates the continued support for this team and how excited fans are to see Gregor Townsend bring his recent success at Glasgow Warriors to the new role of Scotland Head Coach.

Matchdays at BT Murrayfield are fantastic occasions and we want to build on achieving our highest world ranking of 5th with performances against the World and Six Nation Champions in the All Blacks and England, alongside the challenges Samoa, Australia and France will bring.”

Autumn Test Packages (a two-match package to see Scotland play New Zealand and Australia, and a three-match version with Samoa also included) go on general sale on Monday 19 June, with individual match tickets on general sale on 3 July. Supporters are urged to buy early as demand for tickets is expected to be very high.
