Glasgow Hawks to play two matches at Scotstoun

Glasgow Warriors can confirm that BT Premiership club Glasgow Hawks will play two September home games at Scotstoun Stadium.

Hawks approached the Warriors following a sinkhole in their Old Anniesland pitch, which has made it unavailable for games.

The two matches are against Marr (Saturday 2 September) and Heriot’s (Saturday 16 September). The times of these games will be confirmed on the Glasgow Hawks website.

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Nathan Bombrys, said: “Glasgow Hawks approached us looking for some help with a venue for their early season matches whilst they repaired their pitch.

“We’re pleased that we were able to work with Glasgow Life to make Scotstoun available to them for these September matches, while they repair their pitch or find alternative venues for the rest of the season.

"Fortunately, their matches don't clash with our own fixtures and other events at Scotstoun, so we were able to accommodate them."

Kenny Hamilton from Glasgow Hawks added: “We have a really strong relationship with Glasgow Warriors and we’re grateful to them for helping us play these games at Scotstoun.

"We look forward to kicking off our BT Premiership season against Marr at Scotstoun on Saturday.”
