Cochrane added to Scotland squad

Edinburgh Rugby hooker Neil Cochrane joined the Scotland squad at Oriam today as a replacement for the injured George Turner.

Turner sustained a knee injury during Glasgow Warriors’ European Rugby Champions Cup victory over Exeter Chiefs on Saturday.

Following a nine-year exile south of the border, hooker Neil Cochrane joined Edinburgh Rugby from London Wasps in summer 2014.

The Scotland age-grade internationalist made his debut off the bench against Ospreys in the 2014/15 league opener, and surpassed the 50 cap mark – as well as scoring a try-brace – against Timisoara Saracens, in the home European Challenge Cup match in 2017.

Cochrane penned a two-year contract extension ahead of the 2016/17 season and earned his first international call-up to the Scotland squad for the 2017 Autumn Tests.

Lock Richie Gray will miss Scotland’s three-day camp, remaining in France with a calf complaint.
