BT Cup semi-final draws made ahead of Silver Saturday

The draw has been made for the BT Cup semi-finals that will determine the teams to play at BT Murrayfield on Cup finals day.

Watsonians host BT Premiership high-flyers Melrose as they look to extend their league form to the BT Cup and Stirling County will face a stiff challenge from Hawick, who saw off 2017 finalists, Ayr, in the previous round.

Edinburgh Rugby professional players Luke Crosbie and Darcy Graham have both played in the BT Cup for Currie Chieftains and Hawick respectively.

Crosbie said: “Knock-out competitions always provide a great challenge and the BT Cup is no different.

“There are some intriguing match-ups in this round and the clubs will have to be at their very best to progress and make it to BT Murrayfield for Silver Saturday.”

Graham said: “I really enjoyed playing in the BT Cup and will be interested to see who can make it to BT Murrayfield.

With the finals taking place alongside the 1872 Cup decider we should have a great atmosphere for everyone involved.”

In the BT National League Cup the Borders will host two games with St Boswells and Kelso welcoming Dumfries Saints and Stewart’s Melville respectively. The final of the BT National League Cup will take place on Saturday 21 April at a neutral venue to be confirmed.

Elsewhere, in the BT Shield, confirmed semi-finalists, Carrick will travel to the winner of Alloa or Caithness while, in the BT Bowl competition, Wigtownshire receive a home draw against Dundee University Medics or Panmure.
