The Rolling Stones to play BT Murrayfield

The Rolling Stones will play at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 9 June 2018.

Scotland’s National Stadium will host the band’s 2018 ‘Stones - No Filter’ tour - sponsored by Jeep® at the home of Scottish Rugby for what will be the group’s only appearance in the country as one of five UK shows this summer.

The Rolling Stones last played in Scotland in 1999 when they rocked BT Murrayfield on the ‘Bridges to Babylon’ Tour and it will be one of the hottest tickets of the year, fresh from the stadium hosting an historic Calcutta Cup win over England last weekend.

Scottish Rugby’s Chief Operating Officer Dominic McKay said: “There are no bigger names in rock than the legendary Rolling Stones and we are delighted to host them at Scotland’s largest stadium, BT Murrayfield, in June.

“We have worked hard to bring their “No Filter Tour’ to Edinburgh and it’s a real coup for us to have helped bring The Rolling Stones back to Scotland.

“Our roll call of star names continues to grow and it is fantastic to welcome The Rolling Stones join global acts such as One Direction, Madonna, U2, The Foo Fighters, Oasis, and Robbie Williams to have played at BT Murrayfield.

BT Murrayfield stadium continues to attract the biggest events with Scottish Rugby achieving eight consecutive sell-out Scotland rugby matches in the past two seasons, hosting Scottish Premier League matches with Hearts and the most prestigious club matches in European Rugby with the Challenge and Champions Cup Finals respectively. We work incredibly hard to ensure every fan, regardless of the event, has a fantastic experience.”

The Rolling Stones last played in the UK in the summer of 2013 with their unforgettable Glastonbury headline show on the Pyramid Stage, followed by two sensational shows in London’s Hyde Park where they played to a sold-out crowd of 65,000 fans.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am GMT on Friday 2nd March.
