BT Shield and BT Bowl semi-finals confirmed

The draw has been confirmed for the BT Shield and BT Bowl semi-finals that will determine the teams to play at BT Murrayfield on ‘Silver Saturday’ (28 April).

Dubbed ‘Silver Saturday’, domestic cup finals day will be joined by the third and deciding match of this season’s 1872 Cup between Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors at the national stadium in Edinburgh.

The BT Shield and BT Bowl semi-finalists will be playing to join the rugby showcase and contest two of the seven trophies being played for on the day.

Winners of four regional competitions in Caledonia, the Borders, Edinburgh and the West progress to the national BT Shield semi-finals and winners of the Caledonia North, Caledonia Midlands, East and West regional Bowl competitions qualify for the national BT Bowl semis.

In the BT Shield, Caledonia Shield winners, Alloa, will host their West counterparts, Carrick, and Hawick Harlequins welcome Edinburgh region’s Barnton to the Borders.

BT Caledonia Bowl Midlands winner, Panmure, will travel west to play Wigtownshire and Queensferry will take on the winner of BT Caledonia Bowl North, Ross Sutherland or Aberdeen University, in the BT Bowl.

Winners of these matches will play on the international pitch alongside the finalists of the Sarah Beaney Cup and BT Cup on Saturday 28 April before Edinburgh Rugby host Glasgow Warriors in the decider of the 1872 Cup.
