Silver Saturday Tickets go on sale

Tickets for Scottish Rugby’s showpiece ‘Silver Saturday’ event have gone on sale today (Monday 26 March, 10am) – available at scottishrugbytickets.com.

The day combines the BT Cup Finals with the deciding leg of the 1872 Cup between Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors, bringing the Scottish rugby community together for a showcase of the best of the club and professional game.

Fans can buy a single ticket to see all seven women’s and men’s games at BT Murrayfield from Scottish Rugby. Tickets start at £20 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under-18s.

Supporters of clubs competing for silverware on the day can earn their clubs commission, as in previous years, by buying through unique URLs shared by their clubs. These will also be available on from scottishrugby.org once the finalist teams are known.

Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors Season Ticket Members will be able to secure tickets through their own club channels as usual.

Supporters of the two pro sides are also entitled to bring a ‘Free Friend’ along on the day if they select their seats online or over the phone by Friday 13 April.

Scottish Rugby’s Head of Domestic Rugby, Sheila Begbie, said: “BT Cup Finals Day has always been a highlight of the rugby calendar in Scotland and joining together with the 1872 Cup will add interest for fans of both the club and professional games.

It promises to be not only a showcase of the best rugby on offer at all levels in Scotland but a fantastic day out as well.”

Turnstiles open at 9.30am and the day’s play kicks off at 10am on the international pitch at BT Murrayfield with the BT Men’s Bowl Final, culminating with the men’s BT Cup Final (kick-off 4.30pm) and decisive 1872 Cup match between Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors (kick-off 7.35pm).

The women’s Sarah Beaney Cup and BT Men’s Shield Finals also take place inside the bowl during the day while the BT Women’s Bowl and Plate Finals will be contested on the stadium’s back pitches.

A fan village in BT Murrayfield’s West Car Park will be open throughout the day with bars, music and family entertainment on a scale similar to Scotland international matches, with added activities such as Tartan Touch.

Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors will be competing for more than just bragging rights in the last game of the day with both pro sides targeting spots in the Guinness PRO14 Grand Final Series.

Both clubs will be looking forward to rounding off the day, and the regular season, in front of supporters from across the country.

Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Jonny Petrie, said: “The 1872 Cup derby at BT Murrayfield is always a great occasion and we’re all excited to share this showpiece event with the best from the domestic game.

It’s been another memorable season for Scottish rugby at all levels, and what better way to celebrate than for everyone to get together at the national stadium to watch some great rugby, culminating with the crowning of the 1872 Cup winners for 2018.”

Glasgow Warriors Managing Director, Nathan Bombrys, added: “The day is a celebration of all that’s good about Scottish rugby and we’re looking forward to being involved.

“It’s a really positive initiative and it’ll be a great atmosphere for our players, for what is set to be an exciting end to the season.”
