Scotland suffered the second RBS 6 Nations defeat at home to England today with a disappointing 20-0 reverse. Read below for the match report as it happened…As it happened…0′ Scotland bristling from the outset but a chip over top from Weir is out in the full. England lineout on their 10m (0-0).1′ First scrum goes England’s way in that they’re awarded a fre-kick, we then concede a penalty for offside, which Farrell will kick (0-0).3′ Miss pen, Farrell – surprising error from the marksman to miss from in front of the sticks (0-0).4′ Prop Moray Low concedes a penalty for not rolling away inside England’s half so Farrell kicks his side down field (0-0).6′ Drop-goal, Danny Care: England build the pressure in close quarters when Care slots a slick drop goal out from under his feet (0-3).7′ Little on so Weir drives a kicks through for an England lineout on their 22. Seymour races after it and is a few feet from snatching a dangerous ball (0-3).8′ Scotland awarded a pen outside the 22 after getting stuck into England at the breakdown, Laidlaw lines it up… (0-3).9′ Miss pen, Laidlaw: Too much angle and distance for the scrum-half (0-3.11′ Decent kick-chase from Scotland scrambled by England. Number 8 David Denton smashes up but the Scottish support is pinged for being off their feet (0-3).13′ Another penalty conceded by Scotland, this time by lock Jim Hamilton on our 10m line. Farrell kicks for territory (0-3).14′ England lineout deep inside our 22, which they maul to our 5m line (0-3).14′ Try, Luther Burrell: The ball is whipped out from the breakdown to the young centre who dives over for his second of the tournament (0-8).15′ Conversion, Owen Farrell: the stand-off adds the extras (0-10).15′ Scotland earn a penalty immediately from the restart. Similar position to Laidlaw’s earlier miss but he’s going for it (0-10).16′ Miss penalty, Laidlaw: agony as the penalty attempt skims off the post and wide (0-10).18′ Screams for offside as England race up on the Scots attack, kick exchange results in the visitors’ lineout on our 10m (0-10).19′ Another penalty is conceded on our 10m line. Farrell accepts the chance to add three points (0-10).20′ Miss pen, Farrell: Farrell misses the chance to extend his side’s lead (0-10).20′ England running through the phases, battering their way forward before knocking on outside our 22 (0-10).24′ Little penetration coming from repeated phases, England’s defence offering little time on the ball. Weir chips over top (0-10).23′ Scrum penalty awarded against England offers the Scots the chance to relieve this most recent spell of pressure (0-10).28′ With advantage coming Care puts a well placed box kick over top to return Scotland to their 22 for a lineout (0-10).27′ Lineout overthrown and England collect, heaping the pressure on the men in blue. Penalty for off the feet against Scotland (0-10).29′ Penalty, Owen Farrell: No mistake from Farrell who puts his side 13-points clear with ten to go in the first-half (0-13).30′ England up very quick once again to spoil Scotland’s ball and force a knock on, resulting in an England scrum just inside their half (0-13).31′ Opposing outside backs Jack Nowell and Stuart Hogg meet in the air but it’s Hogg’s fingertips that put it out so England build phases from a 10m lineout (0-13).33′ Better kicking from Weir who spots and finds a few holes to chip into and put some pressure on the visitors. England lineout on their 22 (0-13).34′ Denton collect the clearance kick and England pinged at the breakdown for not releasing. Weir puts us downfield (0-13).35′ Another painful lineout malfunction sees England clear. We now run it from the half (0-13).36′ Pressure relieved by a tackle in the air allowing England to kick upfield for a lineout on the half (0-13).39′ Big break from Care cuts through Scotland’s defence. Inside ball to Burrell who looks odds on to score but brought down at the line by the covering tackle of winger Sean Lamont (0-13). Half time: Scotland 0-13 England>> too many errors in the face of a very quick English defence. Not enough pressure through territory so far, errors in execution letting us down. Get a platform and we can build into this. 42′ Impressive kick upfield from Hogg to relieve the pressure (0-13).42′ Scotland sub: Scott Lawson and Alasdair Dickinson replace Ford and Grant (0-13).43′ Better now from Scotland who build phases by battering upfield into the England 22 but Dickinson knocks on, so we scrum down (0-13).47′ Scrum penalty awared to England which allows them to kick up field for a lineout on the half (0-13).49′ Another scrum penalty won by England, this time on our 22, so Farrell lines it up (0-13)50′ Miss penalty, Farrell: Another missed three pointer from the fly-half (0-13).51′ Burrell races clear and is dragged down just short but centre Alex Dunbar is pinged for not releasing at the resulting breakdown and sin binned as a result. This game has already required a huge defensive effort, something which will ramp up for the next 10 minutes with 14 men (0-13).52′ Looked like a great strike out of the line to disrupt and steal ball but we’re pinged for not rolling away. Farrell kicks for a 5m lineout (0-13).52′ Scotland sub: Johnnie Beattie on for Denton (0-13).53′ Great effort from the home defence to carve out a penalty in our 22 and clear to the half for an opportunity to build (0-13).55′ England come racing back into Scotland territory. Care zips through on the counter before a kick pins Scotland in their 22 (0-13).58′ Try, Mike Brown: Nowell with his hands on the ball a few times in various phases before breaking the line and offloading to Brown to cross the paint (0-18).59′ Conversion, Farrell: the number 10 adds the extras to put his side all but out of reach (0-20).62′ Scotland just doing enough to hang on to the recent phases with a man down before Dunbar makes a welcome return (0-20).63′ Scotland sub: Chris Cusiter and Max Evans on for Laidlaw and Seymour (0-20).66′ England with extended time on the ball, playing the patient phases up and into Scotland’s 22 and on towards the 5m line. They chip over top in the knowledge that a penaty is coming for a Scottish offside (0-20).67′ Scotland sub: Geoff Cross on for Low (0-20).67′ Scotland defending desperately at the 5m breakdown and pinged so England go for the lineout (0-20).68′ Big defensive effort needed to keep England out, inches from our line.
