Scottish Rugby and Thomas Cook Sport expand partnership

The UK’s leading sports travel operator has announced its newly extended partnership with Scottish Rugby, which now includes supporter travel for the 2020 Guinness Six Nations and beyond, alongside an existing team travel partnership.

The operator is now the Official Travel Partner of Scottish Rugby, having added supporter travel and Match Break packages to the existing team travel partnership, that was announced in 2018.

Thomas Cook Sport will act as Scottish Rugby’s fan partner for the 2019 Summer Tests, 2020 Guinness Six Nations, and beyond.

Official ticket and hotel packages now available for Scotland’s home fixtures against England and France, with official match ticket included, in the 2020 Guinness Six Nations. Flight and hotel breaks are also now on sale for Scotland’s 2019 Summer Tests against France and Georgia. Prices start from £169pp. Packages include official match tickets and accommodation in the Scottish capital, while supporter travel for away fixtures will also be provided by Thomas Cook Sport, with further details to be announced at a later date.

Thomas Cook Sport’s new fan experience options will run alongside its current role as Scottish Rugby’s team travel provider. Over the last two seasons, the Scotland men’s team has travelled more than twice the circumference of the Earth as preparations continue for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup in Japan. Scottish Rugby is joined by Guinness PRO14 and Gallagher Premier League teams in the travel operator’s current rugby roster.

Head of Thomas Cook Sport, Rob Slawson, said: “We’re extremely excited to announce this extension of our existing partnership, international rugby is one of the greatest sporting spectacles in the world and it’s going to be a pleasure to help create an incredible fan experience for the Scottish faithful. BT Murrayfield Stadium is an incredible sporting venue and Edinburgh offers fans the opportunity to experience world class international rugby union in one of the world’s most beautiful cities.”

“It is an honour to be trusted by any team or organisation to facilitate their supporter and team travel. We take great pride in our duty of care for both supporters, players and staff to ensure a stress-free journey to fixtures and venues.”

Toni Blackhurst, Scottish Rugby’s Head of Group Marketing and Sponsorship commented: “We pride ourselves on providing a fantastic matchday at BT Murrayfield and want as many fans as possible to experience what we have to offer. Extending our team travel partnership to encompass fan travel with Thomas Cook Sport will enable travelling Scotland supporters to not only enjoy what Edinburgh and BT Murrayfield have to offer, but also travel with the team to away fixtures. Having delivered team and supporter travel for Edinburgh Rugby over the past few seasons, it’s fantastic to welcome this expertise to the Scotland set up.”
