Scotland 7s unchanged in Hamilton

John Dalziel has named an unchanged squad as Scotland 7s travel across the Tasman for the Hamilton HSBC World Series Tournament.

Scotland struggled in Sydney, picking up injuries to key players, and and were forced to play without captain Scott Riddell, Gavin Lowe and Robbie Fergusson on the final day.

However, Dalziel has been boosted by the news that all three are fit to play and Harvey Elms will continue undergoing the return to play protocol having undergone a HIA at Allianz Stadium.

Jamie Farndale will miss the pool stages in Hamilton having been cited for a dangerous tackle in Sydney and handed a three game ban.

Scotland have been drawn against hosts New Zealand, Argentina and France with all games live on Sky Sports.

Scotland 7s Head Coach John Dalziel said: “We showed some real bright sparks in Sydney and have improved with every competition.

“We are looking for more consistency this weekend. There are a few sore bodies but we’re raring to go.

“We’ve been drawn in an exciting Pool with three excellent teams and are confident that if we perform at the level we showed we were capable of in Sydney on a consistent basis we will go well.”
