Heather Lockhart

Heather Rosemary Lockhart made her Scotland debut against the USA in November 2004. Thirteen years later she entered the Women's Six Nations record books with the most appearances in the Championship.

She surpassed the record in the final game of the 2017 edition against Italy at home when she made her 69th appearance in a Six Nations match.

Lockhart scored Scotland's only try in the second test against South Africa in the Women's Rugby World Cup warm-up in 2010 and started in all five games of the RWC campaign that year. She reached her 50th cap against Ireland in the third game of the 2011 Six Nations.

The Glasgow-born Craigholme School former pupil is also an Oxford University blue and has played international tennis and hockey as well as rugby. After studying law at Oxford and Edinburgh universities she was competitions co-ordinator for Tennis Scotland and is currently a tennis coach.

Sport runs in Heather’s family. Her father, Brian, played scrum half for Glasgow Academicals and Glasgow’s district team, and her mother, Christine, played hockey for Scotland and is in Great Britain’s current over-70 tennis team. Heather’s brother, Dougie, played cricket for Scotland, and sister Abbe is a Cambridge University tennis blue.
