Scott Riddell

Scott Adam George Riddell was a familiar face on the HSBC Sevens World Series circuit when he joined Scotland 7s on a full-time basis in season 2012/13 and ever since he has cemented himself as a regular in the abbreviated national team.

He came into the squad with a Sevens Rugby World Cup (2009), a Commonwealth Games (2010) and 18 World Series caps under his belt.  He was named in a second Commonwealth Games rugby sevens team when in May 2014, Stephen Gemmell named him in his side to compete at Glasgow 2014 having competed in almost every minute of the 2013/14 World Series circuit.

Riddell was world-class throughout the 2014/15 season and his efforts were rewarded when he was named in the London 7s Dream Team at the tailend of that season.

The prop's form continued into the following season, where he played in nine of the ten World Series tournament.

Riddell marked his 50th World Series cap in fine fashion, when he played an integral part in history making Scotland 7s squad, who won the London event in 2016.

He made his World Series debut in Wellington on the 2008/09 circuit. Previously Scott played his club rugby with Stewart’s Melville FP and had a stint with the national two side Blaydon in England.
