Welcome to the section of the Scottish Rugby website which provides advice and guidance in relation to regulatory matters. The regulatory section comprises two main areas:
The Scottish Domestic Regulations
The Scottish Rugby Union (Scottish Rugby) is obliged to comply with the Regulations Relating to the Game issued by the International Rugby Board (the “iRB Regulations”). These iRB Regulations are applicable throughout world rugby and cover topics ranging from the Player Contracting through to areas such as Anti-Doping and the control of Betting within our game.
In order to reflect the unique environment of Scottish rugby, we have supplemented the iRB Regulations with further Scottish Domestic Regulations (“SDRs”). We collectively refer to iRB Regulations and the SDRs as being the “Regulations”.
All those within Scottish Rugby’s jurisdiction are required to comply with the Regulations.
In addition there are a range of other areas, some of which are regulated by third parties, where we are able to provide regulatory advice and support. These topics include matters such as Child Protection.
