He featured strongly in the team in the first part of the season 2011/12 campaign, scoring a vital try in the historic RaboDirect PRO12 win away to European champions Leinster and being voted September 2011 McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month in association with Hotel du Vin.

Campbell suffered a knee injury midway through the campaign, but returned to the match 23 for the home RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Scarlets in February 2012.

The lock is a born and bred west of Scotland rugby man, having come through the ranks at Allan Glen's, Cartha Queens Park and Glasgow Hawks before earning the opportunity to enter the professional game.

He made his Warriors debut in the 2011/12 RaboDirect PRO12 opener away to Ulster, and won a first start the following week against Munster at Firhill. He made his first appearance in the Heineken Cup away to Castres in December 2012.

Campbell has represented Scotland at under-18 and under-20 level, and does judo and boxing training in his spare time. He completed the first year of a building surveying course at Glasgow Caledonian University before deferring to pursue his rugby career.
