Christopher Paul Dean captained Scotland at under-17 level throughout the Wellington Festival in 2011 and received a Scotland 7s Elite Development contract in May 2012 before joing Edinburgh Rugby full-time at the outset of the 2014/15 season.
At just 19 years of age, Dean was the first Scot to score a try at the 2013 Rugby World Cup 7s in Moscow, in his country's opening match versus Japan. He scored three tries in total in that tournament.
A former pupil of Law PS in North Berwick he attended Edinburgh Academy and captained them to Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools' Cup success in 2009, 2010 and 2011 at both under-15 and under-18 levels.
He was also a member of the sevens team that took part in the Youth Commonwealth Games in 2011 in the Isle of Man and has also represented Edinburgh at under-16 and under-18 levels.
