Gregor William Young joined his identical twin brother Lewis in the Scotland 7s set-up during the 2012/13 season, having grown up through the Jed-Forest club in the Borders and becoming a familiar face on the Kings of the Sevens circuit.
He won his first cap on the World Series at the outset of the 2013/14 HSBC Sevens World Series when he travelled with the squad to the opening tournament on the Gold Coast.
Gregor and Lewis Young were the first set of twins to wear the Scotland jersey and play at the same time. This feat was achieved 11 minutes into Scotland 7s', 31-5 victory over Portugal in the 2014 London 7s. Young scored a blinding try in this match running the full length of the field to score.
As well as being a previous winner of the under-18 Border League with Jed-Forest, Young played for the South of Scotland in the BIll McLaren Foundation charity match against the Barbarians at Mansfield Park in October 2011.
