Robbie Nairn

Robbie Peter Nairn was educated at Currie Community High School. He was part of an extremely prolific Currie U15’s side which were named Edinburgh & District League and cup champions 11/12.

After try scoring performances as part of Scotland under-18, Nairn was promoted to the Scotland under-20 set-up for the 2015 World Rugby Under-20 Championship, while still eligible to play for the more junior outfit.

Nairn was due to play against New Zealand in the opening game of the Championship yet had to withdraw due to illness. However, he bounced back to feature in the next four games, claiming his debut score in the 29-6 victory over Argentina.

He then played as part of the Currie U16’s side which also experienced success, being named Edinburgh & District League champions & cup finalists 12/13. During this time Robbie has represented Edinburgh Region U16 and Scotland U16 2013.

Away from rugby Robbie has excelled at track and field. During the 2012/2013 season he experienced extraordinary success, claiming gold at the: U16 SSAA Secondary School Championships; U16 Scottish Indoor Championships; U16 Scottish East District Championships; U16 Scottish Outdoor Championships; U17 1st UK Sainsbury School Games, Olympic Park; U17 Edinburgh Secondary School Championships; U17 Scottish National Open Championships; Scottish National U18 Championships.

He also placed fifth at the U17 AVIVA SIAB International Match, Ashford, and 3rd at the U18 Celtic Games international, Aberdeen.

Sporting prowess runs in the family, as his dad played Youth rugby for Boroughmuir, while Robbie's mum was Scotland Internationalist for Long Jump.
