Ruaridh Knott

Ruaridh Alexander Knott, a former pupil of Loretto School,  gained his first cap for Scotland under-20 when he came off the bench, in  the final game of Six Nations, to contribute towards the 17-10 defeat of Ireland at Netherdale.

Knott was included in the Scotland under-20 squad for the 2015 World Rugby Championship, and appeared in four of the games.

His first score in Scotland colours came in his debut start, against Ireland. The last minute try secured a vital losing bonus point for the Dark Blues, which contributed to their progression to the 5th-8th playoffs.

He had previously played for the age-grade side in a non-cap Junior World Cup warm-up game against Wales the previous year, and, prior to that, represented Scotland under-17 against England.

A product of Highland, he now plies his trade at Melrose and was part of their Premiership winning side in his first season at the club, 2013/14.

Knott played for Caledonia at under-15 level through to under-18 and, with his move to The Greenyards, was then selected for Borders at under-20.

He is currently a student in Business Management at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.
