Helen Nelson

Helen Nelson made her Scotland Women 7s debut in the first leg of the 2016 Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Trophy in Prague.

This followed her first appearance for Scotland Women off the bench against France at Broadwood Stadium in the 2016 Six Nations.

A product of Glencoe Primary and Kinlochleven High School, Nelson first played rugby at the age of six at Lochaber Rugby Club alongside her brother Robbie, who now plays for BT Premiership side Currie. Their sister Bryony has taken up rugby this season at Edinburgh club Watsonians.

While studying Geophysics and Meteorology at Edinburgh University, the software developer played for the university alongside her club Murrayfield Wanderers.

Nelson was also in the Scottish Alpine Ski Team from 2009 to 2012.
