Lisa Martin

Lisa Janice Martin was selected for Scotland Women 7s in the side’s maiden year in 2012 and significantly contributing to their success, scoring four tries and 18 conversions at the two FIRA-AER European qualifying events.

She has gone on to earn six Scotland Women 7s caps.

Martin represented Scotland Women U16 and U18 before making her full international debut off the bench against Ireland in the last 2010 Rugby World Cup match.

She has been a key player ever since, going on to earn 37 caps and captaining the side for the past two seasons, including the two wins against Wales and Italy in the 2017 Women’s Six Nations.

A product of Portobello High School, Martin first played rugby at her local club Portobello Hornets aged seven. She made the move to Murrayfield Wanderers a few years later and is still playing for the Edinburgh club, which won the BT Women’s Premiership for a third consecutive season in 2017.

Graduating with a degree in Applied Sports Science from Edinburgh University, Martin now works as a Performance Sport Coordinator at the university.
