Jade Konkel

Jade Elizabeth Konkel made her Scotland Women debut against England when she came on as a replacment in the opening 2013 Six Nations match.

Her first points came in the 2015 edition when she scored against Italy and she scored a brace against Ireland in the narrow defeat at Broadwood Stadium in the first round of the 2017 Championship. 

The HIllhead Jordanhill number 8 became Scottish Rugby's first full-time female player when she signed as a Stage 3 player in the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy in summer 2016.

Born in Inverness, and brought up on the Black Isle, Konkel grew up surrounded by rugby. She's previously played with Inverness Craig Dunain rugby club, as did her mum, dad, younger and older brothers.

Konkel has also played basketball for Highland Bears and had two season in the national league. She has represented Scotland in athletics for the army cadets (winning two gold medals in 2008/09 for shot putt and discus) and in 2008 gained her black belt in the martial art Goshin-Ryu Kempo.
