Cornell du Preez

The former Springbok Academy starlet earned his first Scotland cap during the 2017 RBS 6 Nations against England at Twickenham, coming off the bench to replace Ryan Wilson.

The back-row is equally at home either on the flank or at number eight, and arrived at Edinburgh Rugby after an impressive debut Super Rugby season.

Hailed as the ‘complete package’, Du Preez is very strong physically, is an exceptionally good carrier and powerful in defence.

A serious lower leg injury during the sixth match of 2014/15 against Dragons was expected to end his season however he was able to make a welcome return, off the bench, against the Dragons, in the April 2015 European Cup semi-final win at BT Murrayfield.

Du Preez qualifies for Scotland through residency.
