Ed Kalman

A powerful scrummager and increasingly impactful presence in the loose, Ed Kalman's form in season 2011/12, most notably in the home Heineken Cup game against European champions Leinster, saw him called up to the Scotland squad for the RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Kalman was tight-head in the Cambridge team who beat Oxford in the 2005 University match at Twickenham. The following summer he joined Border Reivers, and a year later he moved to Glasgow Warriors, returning to the region in which he learned his rugby.

The prop is a product of the Whitecraigs club, having played in the Glasgow south-side club for 10 years from the age of 8. While at Belmont House School in Whitecraigs, he played for Glasgow Schools, and he went on to have two seasons in the Glasgow under-20 team from 2000 to 2002.

At Cambridge (Fitzwilliam College) he read an MPhil in Technology Policy.
