Simon Berghan

Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Simon Berghan made his international debut off the bench for Scotland against France during the 2017 RBS 6 Nations but sadly didn’t taste success in his first match in the navy blue, losing 24-16 in Paris. He is eligible to represent Scotland through his grandfather, Andrew Davidson, from Stirling.

The prop can play on both sides of the scrum but has a preference for tighthead and progressed from Shirley Boys High School to local club Sydenham, who he captained for two seasons.

He earned selection for the provincial Canterbury academy B team and Crusader Knights, the development squad of the Super Rugby giants, before securing a one-year contract with Edinburgh Rugby.

The 20st, 6’3” prop has made 24 appearances for the capital club before being named in the Scotland squad for the first time ahead of the 2017 RBS 6 Nations.
