All travellers coming into Inverness from the North and South on the A9, from the East on the A96 and from the West on the A862 should first follow directions for the A82 and Fort William . Continue to follow the A82 route through the town reaching Tomnahurich Street that runs on into Glenurquhart Road . Look out for the Tomnahurich Cemetery on the right then the Sports Centre and running track on the left. At this point take the first left past the running track which is also immediately before the canal bridge. Canal Park is about 200m along this road on the right. Coming from the South on the A82 follow the route towards the town until you pass Torvean Golf Course on the right. Cross the canal bridge and then turn immediately right, again 200m along this road on the right. If you are travelling North on the B862 drive into the city centre and then take the first bridge across the river following the signposting for the A82 and Fort William .
