NATIONAL 7s


This year SWRU National 7s competition will be a combin ed event with the Emi rates Airline Edinburgh Sevens and the associated Festival of Rugby to be held at Murrayfield on 2nd and 3rd June. This is a change from the previously advertised date on the Calendar

Hosting the tournament in co njun ction with this major International event brings us the opportunity to raise the profile of our sport and allows us to offer additional benefits to participants and volunteers at no cost to SWRU Affiliat ed Tea ms

Entry for SWRU affiliated teams is FREE and non affiliat ed tea ms will be required to pay a £25 entry fee

The squad of 12 players and 2 co aching staff will all receive free tickets to the Emi rates Airline Edinburgh Sevens

Public catering will be available, but no team catering will be provid ed. There will be very limited sp ace to store bags and change and teams are strongly recommended to arrive changed.

SWRU 7s (Youth)

Date: Saturday 2nd June

Entries: Please complete standard entry form and return to Event Coordinator Lindsey Booth by May 7th. There are16 pl aces in total allocat ed on receipt of entry form (first come, first served)

There will be competitions run at both U15 and U18 age bands and entries are welcom ed from tea ms in e ach group. We are aware that there are a small number of players that may be more suited to a different age band than the one their school year would put them in for example a player that has developed physically and would hurt girls in the younger age group could play in the youth senior age group or vice versa. If you believe you have a player who would benefit from playing in a different age group you must contact Lindsey Booth SWRU NDO PRIOR to the tournament. All decisions as to what age group a player should play in will be made with safety of the individual and the other players in mind

Squad size: 12 players (teams who require to borrow players MUST indicate this on their from or who have entered a full squad and later require to borrow players MUST CONTACT Lindsey Booth SWRU NDO PRIOR to the competition)

Date: Sunday 3rd June

Entries: Please complete the standard entry form and return to Event Coordinator Lindsey Booth by May 7th. There are16 pl aces in total allocat ed on receipt of entry form (first come, first served). Four places are reserved for non-SWRU affiliated teams (subject to review upon receipt of entries).

Format:

4 pools of 4 tea ms, Semi finals and Final matches

9am-2 pm - Pool Games (10 mins 1 way)

14:00-14:15 Semi Final 1 (7 mins e ach way)

14:20-14:35 Semi Final 2 (7 mins e ach way)

14:45-15:10 Final (10 mins e ach way 1 min H/T)
