The National Development League
The NDL is open to all teams who are not competing in either the SWRU Premier or National Leagues. The SWRU arranges a series of events based at the home clubs of participating teams. The events are made up of a combination of skills development, fixtures and torunaments. NDL clubs are expected to attend all fixtures days. Entry into tournaments is optional. The format of the competition is flexible and will be advised on the day by the event organiser. NDL Champions in 2006/7 were Grangemouth.
Who is it for?
• clubs struggling to build their numbers
• relatively new and inexperienced players
• university teams with young players new to the game
• new clubs working to get started
• small groups of women wanting to give it a try for the first time
How much does it cost?
Nothing! Entry into the NDL is covered by the SWRU Affiliation fee. All players attending must be registered with the SWRU. Forms will be available on the day and player registration is FREE.
