Technical Blueprint - Mini Rugby P4-5

The Mini Rugby P4/5 workshop will help coaches develop an understanding of the journey a mini rugby player will go through at this stage.

By the end of the workshop, coaches will have a further understanding of how P4/5 mini rugby fits within the players' journey, the principles of play specific to P4/5, coaching methods (e.g. coaching through games) and delivery styles to meet the needs of P4/5 rugby players & effectively introduce the tackle into the game (little and often, developing movement skills). 


Course Outline

1. Purpose and Principles of Play related to P4/5 rugby 

2. Analysing some basic play from P4/5 games

3. Game coaching, coaching through games and application of the Age Grade Law Variations

4. Developing confident tacklers practical



Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to attend
