Club Funding Opportunities

The Rugby Development department has sourced additional funding options to further help clubs during the current period of financial uncertainty:

Strategic Framework Business Fund scheme will pay small grants (£1,400 - £3,000 every 4 weeks) to organisations that are required to close or significantly change their operations due to the restrictions related to the 5 protection levels. This will include indoor sports facilities required to close in level 4 areas or indoor sports facilities that can no longer provide group exercise in level 3 areas. It will also cover sports facilities that offer catering that are impacted by the restrictions on hospitality. Eligibility criteria must be met.

Coronavirus Business Interpretation Loan from British Business Bank - All Major banks will offer the scheme which will guarantee 80% of bank loans and pay the first year of interest on loans up to £5 million.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme from UK Government - Financial support, 80% of an employee’s salary up to £2500 for employers who would have otherwise made workers redundant.

Employers will receive a one-off payment of £1,000 for every employee who has previously been furloughed under Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) – if they remain continuously employed to the end of January 2021. Click here for further information.

The Community & Third Sector Recovery Programme aims to support charities, community groups, social enterprises and voluntary organisations that are supporting people and communities through the shift from lockdown to recovery. As well as providing ongoing crisis support, many will be planning and implementing changes to adapt and thrive in a very different social and economic climate.
