Reminder of your 2022 winners

Royal Bank is excited to announce an enthusiastic and committed cohort of 15x Young Ambassadors for 2022 whose applications demonstrated their passion to improve their rugby clubs. This year’s intake features three Young Ambassadors from each region in Scotland; comprising of 9 female and 6 male inductees.

After a rigorous judging process, Ellon Rugby and Cartha Queens Park will be awarded the top prizes (Hero Club status) which provides each club with a £1,000 grant, an additional £1,000 of event support, RugbyForce kit and a Scotland international player appearance. The clubs demonstrated genuine commitment to drive inclusion at their clubs and put on a fantastic RugbyForce event which will engage with their communities.

RugbyForce* takes place 6th-7th August 2022, where clubs nationwide will host a range of pre-season events, such as community fun days, youth rugby coaching and rugby 7s tournaments, raising awareness of the positive impact that Scotland’s grassroots clubs have within their local communities.

Eight Star Clubs also received £1,000 plus personal appearances from Scotland players. Eight Champion Clubs were awarded £1,000 grants plus event kit. Royal Bank RugbyForce is proud to support the grassroots game across the nation in all regions with all Legend clubs awarded £250 in funding.

Royal Bank Young Ambassador Programme

In 2021, Royal Bank launched a Young Ambassador programme, for ambitious 18-35-year-olds across the country to become the next generation of leaders at their rugby clubs. In partnership with Scottish Rugby, the Royal Bank are empowering under 35-year-olds to take on responsible committee positions, taking part in executive decisions at their clubs, with relevant sponsorship, finance, social media training to help enrich the future of their clubs.

The following group of 15x Young Ambassadors will each receive a £500 grant to put towards the transformational projects outlined in their applications which look to improve inclusion, access to rugby, augment digital capabilities, and ensure financial sustainability at their grassroots clubs. They will also benefit from digital support, mentoring, and invites to exclusive events at BT Murrayfield. The new 15 Young Ambassadors will join our existing squad of 10 from the class of 2021, to strengthen the Royal Bank Young Ambassador programme.
