University and College rugby is a unique environment where you can develop your skills, try rugby for the first time, compete nationally, form long-lasting friendships and most importantly have fun.
At Scottish Rugby we look to support students and institutions to access a visible and attractive range of opportunities to take part. We believe that rugby is a game for everyone and a game for life and Student Rugby plays an important part in achieving both those ambitions by offering rugby at all levels.
Student Rugby in Scotland has seen huge growth in the last few years. We would like to continue this growth by working with Universities and Colleges to offer a wide range of playing and non-playing opportunities to their students who are interested in the rugby programme at their institution. These opportunities can range from Tartan Touch to playing regular BUCS rugby on a Wednesday afternoon to representing your University or Scotland at European or World level. Several institutions also enter teams into full Scottish Rugby competition, in addition to or instead of BUCS competition.
We aim to work with every University and College across Scotland to provide students with a platform to participate in rugby regardless of their playing experience to date. We look forward to working with you all to continue to make the Student Rugby game in Scotland stronger and stronger over the next few years.
