Getting to know: Alex Craig

There are four new faces in the Scotland squad for the upcoming Guinness Six Nations. Ewan Ashman, Dave Cherry, Alex Craig and Cameron Redpath have all been selected by Gregor Townsend and could be capped over the next couple of months.

Alex Craig plays for English Premiership side, Gloucester.

The 23-year-old has represented Scotland at U20 level, making 14 appearances and scoring two tries at that level.

The Dumfries-born second-row came through the Gloucester academy set-up and was promoted to the first team squad ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

He has gone on to play 28 games for the English Premiership side, having previously represented Hartpury in the English Championship on 22 occasions.

Craig has played seven times for Gloucester this season, with his club form seeing him called up to Gregor Townsend’s Scotland squad for the upcoming Guinness Six Nations.
