Adamson and Davidson appointed for upcoming internationals

Scottish referees Mike Adamson and Hollie Davidson have been selected to officiate in the upcoming international fixture list and have secured significant appointments early in the new season.

Adamson takes charge of his first Tier 1 international match when England host the Barbarians at Twickenham on 25 October, having previously been in the middle for a Test match between Romania and Samoa back in 2017.

On his selection, former Scotland 7s internationalist Adamson said: “I am looking forward to my first Tier 1 game down at Twickenham. We’ve been working hard within our group of match officials in Scotland over the last few years to keep developing and improving. It’s an exciting game to be involved in and another step in the right direction.”

Davidson, who has already overseen 11 international matches, will referee the Ireland v Italy (25 October at Donnybrook) and England v France (21 November at Twickenham) women’s games, the former as part of the truncated Women’s Six Nations.

She commented: “2020/2021 is a huge year for women’s rugby with all roads leading to the World Cup in New Zealand; I’m just excited to have rugby back and get the opportunity to be back in the middle!”

Both Adamson and Davidson, along with Sam Grove-White, will also enjoy Assistant Referee appointments in other international fixtures in October and November.
