Davidson appointed for Women’s Six Nations matches

Scottish Rugby’s Hollie Davidson has been handed four officiating appointments for the 2020 Women’s Six Nations, it was confirmed today.

Davidson will referee the France v Italy match at Stade Beaublanc in Limoges as well as the England v Ireland match at Castle Park in Doncaster.

Davidson made her Women’s Six Nations debut last year when she was appointed as referee at Cardiff Arms Park, when Wales hosted Ireland in the final round and assistant referee for the England v France match at Castle Park.

Today’s news means the Edinburgh-based official doubles her appointments on the year past, with a further two assistant opportunities in 2020 – supporting Rebecca Mahoney in the Ireland v Italy match as well as Aurelie Groizeleau when Italy host England.

Davidson is currently refereeing on the World Rugby Sevens circuit where she was appointed to six of the eight legs for the season. She recently took the whistle for the Wales v Barbarians Women’s match at the Principality Stadium.

The prominent rugby ref has also had her debut in the Guinness PRO14 this season when she assisted fellow Scot, Sam Grove-White when Ulster beat Zebre last month. Davidson has also been involved in the inaugural FOSROC Super6 Tournament as well as the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

The Women’s Six Nations appointments were made by the World Rugby Match Officials Selection Committee.

The selections for the Guinness Six Nations 2020 were announced last week with Scot Mike Adamson making his debut.
