Referee Hollie Davidson to debut at Pro14

Scottish official Hollie Davidson is set to referee her first Guinness PRO14 match this weekend, overseeing the rescheduled Round 11 game between Glasgow Warriors and Benetton Rugby.

This latest appointment will mark Davidson’s first men’s professional match appointment and follows in the footsteps of Joy Neville in becoming the second female official to be appointed to a Championship fixture.

The former Scotland U20s player had previously been appointed to officiate Newcastle Falcons v Castres in round 3 of the European Challenge Cup on Saturday 16 January, however this fixture was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Davidson has previously been selected to officiate at the Women’s Rugby World Cup Sevens (2017), Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup Sevens (2018), Women’s Six Nations (2019 & 2020) in addition to her numerous appointments as an assistant referee in the Guinness PRO14.

Tappe Henning, Match Official Commissioner at Scottish Rugby said: “On behalf of Scottish Rugby, I would like to extend my congratulations to Hollie on her appointment to the Guinness PRO14. She thoroughly deserves this opportunity, and I am sure it will be the first of many at this level of the game.”
