One of the key playmakers in the Scotland 7s setup, Gavin Lowe was once again selected as part of the team’s core playing group ahead of the 2019/20 season.

The versatile sevens player - he is comfortable in the forwards or backs - is a relative of a veteran of the Scotland set up, having made his debut in 2014 as a 19-year-old and going on to feature in every series since.

He was an ever-present during the 2018/19 circuit and finished joint-sixth on the list of points scorers with 232.

A prolific kicker, former Ayr and Glasgow Hawks man Lowe has landed 150 tournament conversions already and is set to pass 500 overall points during the current campaign.

Lowe is something of a sporting polymath; he helped East Ayrshire to the 2010 Scottish Schools Football Cup title, while he was also the 2009 under-14 Scottish Schools badminton doubles champion.
