Max McFarland joined the Scotland 7s core group for the first time ahead of the 2018/19 season, with his searing pace making him a threat from anywhere on the pitch.

The winger, who was born in Ireland, originally joined the setup on a partnership contract with Glasgow Warriors in 2017, immediately catching the eye with his finishing prowess.

He scored an impressive seven tries at the 2018 Sydney Sevens, with only the USA’s Perry Baker recording more.

McFarland represented his country at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, whilst he also scored a crucial try against France in the 7th place playoff at the 2018 Sevens World Cup in San Francisco.

McFarland is 9th in the all-time scoring charts for Scotland with 360 thanks to an impressive 72 career tries to date.
