Sam Pecqueur joined the Scotland 7s core group on a part-time training contract prior to the 2017/18 season, before being named in the squad for 2018/19 and again for this season.

The Melrose man made his debut on the World Series at the 2017 Cape Town Sevens, having been 13th man at the Dubai leg a week previously.

He was named as part of the 12 man squad for the 2018 Sevens World Cup in San Francisco, helping the team to a seventh place finish.

During the opening leg of the current series, in Dubai, Pecqueur scored a hat-trick of tries in Scotland's pool encounter with Ireland, adding another in their play-off with Kenya.
