Glasgow Warriors wing Rory Hughes made his starting Scotland debut, against Italy in Turin, after being named in the extended squad for Rugby World Cup 2015.
He looked to make his second debut off the bench during Scotland's first 2016 Autumn Test match against Australia, but was not subbed on, but did come on for Maitland during Scotland's 43-16 defeat against Georgia at Rugby Park; the final Autumn Test that year.
He came through Scotland's age-grade system and made his Scotland 7s debut at the Marriott London 7s in May 2012, in the pool game against South Africa.
He was allocated to Glasgow Warriors for the 2013/14 season, as part of the Scottish Rugby Elite Development Programme.
Hughes, who can play on the wing or at full-back, attended King's Park Secondary School in Glasgow's southside and is a product of GHA Rugby Club.
Hughes made his Warriors debut against Connacht at Scotstoun in February 2014 and was part of the Glasgow squad which won the Melrose 7s in April.
He had the chance to impress Scotland Head Coach Vern Cotter in a back-up game for a combined Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors side and was subsequently called into the extended squad for the Rugby World Cup 2015.
As well as sevens he has played for Scotland at under-17 and under-18 level.
