A former U20 cap, Scott Steele was named for the first time in a full Scotland squad for the 2020 Autumn programme, on the back of a successful six-year stint with London Irish, from whom he joined Harlequins for the current season.
The Dumfries-born half-back was a keen footballer growing up, and was on the books at Kilmarnock before committing to rugby.
Steele made his Scotland debut in the 14-10 win over Wales in the 2020 Guinness Six Nations championship, coming off the bench to feature on the wing instead of his usual scrum-half role.
He won a second cap against England at Twickenham in February 2021 as part of the squad to win the Calcutta Cup in England for the first time since 1983.
Steele made a first start for his country in the 2021 Guinness Six Nations match against Italy, against whom he scored his first international try.
