Born in Edinburgh, former Stewart's Melville pupil Jack Blain has represented Scotland at under-16, under-18 and under-19 levels.

Blain currently plays for Heriot's in the Tennent's Premiership, whilst in 2018 the winger became the first player born in 2000 to play a match for Edinburgh when he faced Bath in a pre-season friendly at Megetland.

Blain was ever-present in both the 2019 U20 Six Nations and World Rugby U20 Championship, with the winger showcasing his lethal finishing abilities in both tournaments.
