Former pupil of Trinity PS and Hawick HS, Lisa Thomson got involved with rugby at Jed Minis. She made her international debut against England at Broadwood in the 2016 6N opener.
She played through the pathways, East of Scotland under-18s, Scotland under-18 and under-20, and for clubs Langholm under-15 - with whom she won the Brewin Dolphin under-15 Cup in 2012 - and Murrayfield Wanderers under-18 before joining Melrose Ladies.
A student of Applied Sports Science at University of Edinburgh, she was awarded the Keri Holdsworth Player of the Match when Edinburgh beat St Andrew's in the Varsity Cup in 2015.
Thomson took a break from her degree and joined top female French club Lille Metropole Rugby Club Villeneuvois (LMRCV) for the season 2017/18.
She is currently playing for DMP Sharks whilst studying at the University of Edinburgh and training with Scottish Rugby as a 2021 supported player. Thomson was captain for Scotland Women for the 2018/19 season.
